announce a new patch for Solar Fire 6 and
corrections to our feature on Mayan Astrology.
We also are happy to annoucne that we will be

program this holiday season.

In our opinion, one of the best reasons for
buying Solar Fire is the fact that it is
constantly being improved, either to fix little
glitches or to take advantage of new advances in
computer technology or astrology.
A case in point is the latest
update which changes the asteroid and new planet
files
to refer to dwarf planets instead of "possible
new" planets, and to "Eris" instead of UB313.
There are a number of other improvements as well
including: the addition of the Polar Ascendant and
Co-Ascendant to the chart analysis report; a new
Astrologer's Assistant task file (LifeL_SC.tsk),
based on the "Astrology of Development", forthcoming
Llewellyn book by Stephanie Clement, Ph.D. which
runs a series of merged dynamic reports
including aspects of each planet to its natal
position up to the first planetary return or end
of life; a new View menu item to send
charts for viewing in the Kepler program, if it
is installed; and a new starfile - GC.fst for
the Galactic Center.

Gary's Solstice Talk
Even though
our headline read "Gary Christen's
Annual Solstice Lecture at Astrolabe," many
people have been inquiring where the lecture
will be held... hmmm... at Astrolabe in
beautiful Brewster MA on Cape Cod! Come for a
visit --December is a great time to be here! The
Cape is dressed for the holidays and hotel
rates are about as low as they go. There have
also been some questions about the $50 Solstice
readings. These readings are about 15 minutes
long and use the Winter Solstice chart combined
with your Sun and Solar Arc to give an overview
of the coming year.
The lecture is December 10, 2006 at 11:30 am.
The fee for the lecture is $25. Recorded
solstice readings are available for $50 pre-paid
and are by advance registration only. You need
not attend the lecture to reserve a reading.

Bruce Scofield's Article
A couple of our astute readers noticed that the
introductory paragraphs of Bruce's article on
"The Twenty Days Signs of MesoAmerican
Astrology" as it appeared in AUGuries was merged
with the introductory paragraphs from a previous
issue. Looks like someone didn't cut and
paste throroughly (my bad!). However, the
article is fine
on the website. My sincere apologies to
Bruce.
Those of you who appreciate irony may
have found it quite interesting that the
"leftover" thread from last time had to do with
securing the U.S. border with Mexico and the
problem of illegal immigration!
Be sure to read the article and learn about the
Day Signs. All things Mayan are hot right now.

ruins one of the seven new wonders of the world.
And, there's bound to be a flurry of interest in
Mayan culture once Mel Gibson's

Imagine you are an astrologer back in Ancient
Greece and your anxiety-ridden client wants to
